Pain & Injury

Back, neck, shoulder, joint and sports pain — eased with hands-on, time-tested care.

Pain & Injury
How TCM can help

Most everyday pain involves tight muscle and fascia, irritated joints and a nervous system stuck in a guarded state. Acupuncture, tui na, cupping and bone-setting are commonly used to release that tension, calm the pain response and restore movement and circulation — often bringing relief over a short series of visits. We work alongside your medical care, not instead of it.

In TCM, persistent pain is described as blocked flow that the treatment helps to move.

What to expect

After an assessment, we plan an individualized course of care. Treatments are often combined — for example, acupuncture with tui na or cupping — and reviewed and adjusted as you respond.

Frequency and duration vary; many people see meaningful change over a short series of visits.

Common questions
Does it hurt?

Most people feel only a small pinch from acupuncture, followed by a heavy or warm sensation. Bodywork pressure is always adjusted to your comfort — tell your practitioner what feels like too much.

How many sessions?

It varies. For many everyday-pain complaints, a short series works well; your practitioner reassesses and adjusts as you go.

Is it covered by insurance?

Acupuncture and registered massage therapy are commonly eligible under extended health benefits, and after a motor-vehicle accident under ICBC.
